Welcome back to Seacrest Beach!
After a long winter, we’re excited to usher in another summer season at the shore. Whether you’re returning for weekends or spending the whole summer with us, we’re happy to see Seacrest coming back to life. A special welcome to the new families who purchased homes over the winter: the Keanes at 123 Island View, the Suttons at 131 Kittiwake, and the Szarvas family at 103 Kittiwake.
Over the winter, significant work was completed by the water company, including the replacement of water mains and individual services on Abbey Lane, Basra Lane, Island View Drive, and Ivy Lane. While this work was deemed essential, it has left our beachside roads in need of extra attention. In the coming weeks, our road contractor will be addressing soft spots and reestablishing the proper crown on the roadways to ensure effective drainage and safe conditions. Although the Water Company had their contractor repair the roads twice, the results were only a partial improvement—they are still not back to their original condition.
We will also be updating most of the faded No Parking signs and installing a few more where needed. Please remember that vehicle speeds are a constant concern in Seacrest—we all need to slow down. If delivery or garbage trucks are causing issues, we encourage you to report them to the appropriate authorities.
Additionally, we want to inform you about the ongoing beach replenishment project led by the Army Corps of Engineers. Their work spans from Seaside Park north to the Manasquan Inlet. While we are excited to see our beaches widened and restored, the schedule for work in Seacrest remains fluid. At one point, the Corps estimated the work on our beach would take approximately 3 to 4 days and be completed in sections—impacting only half the beach at a time. It was tentatively projected that they would be in our area between early and mid-June. However, the most recent update suggests that work on our section may be postponed until after the summer. As always, we will keep you informed as we receive new information. We appreciate your patience during this necessary but temporary disruption.
On a lighter note, the Social Committee has been working hard to organize a variety of fun activities for kids and adults alike. Be sure to check the calendar and the walkway board for updates and announcements.
Please join us for our Spring Membership Meeting, which will be held at the Ocean Beach Firehouse on Kittiwake this Saturday, May 24 at 10:00 AM. This is a great opportunity to reconnect with neighbors, hear community updates, and ask questions.
The official opening day of the 2025 beach season is set for Saturday, June 21. This year’s membership dues are $998.00, plus a $20 Bayside Beach Lease Assessment and a $10 Beachside Beach Lease Assessment. Dues notifications will be sent via email in the coming days. Please make your payments in a timely manner—thank you!
Thank you for your continued support and for helping make Seacrest Beach a wonderful place to live and visit. We look forward to another memorable season together!
Surfs up!
