Dear Seacrest Beach Club Members,
I hope you all had a safe and healthy winter, and I trust you are looking forward to another enjoyable summer at the shore.
This winter has been hard on our beach and our roads, we are working diligently to get the walkways cleared of the winter sand build up and getting the road crew lined up for the necessary repairs. The annual spring meeting is scheduled to take place on Saturday May 25th at the Ocean Beach Firehouse on Kittiwake starting at 10:00am, please plan to be there.
The board guided by our treasure Jim Testa has prepared for your review the 2024 operating budget and attached it to this letter. The board has worked hard to keep costs down without sacrificing any of the outstanding services we have grown accustomed to. This year the annual budget increased approximately 8.66% or $77. We look forward to answering any questions you might have about the budget at the meeting. The annual dues will be $970 per household plus the beach lease assessment for the ocean side residents of $10 and the bay side residents of $20. Please check your email and the Seacrest website for the annual dues invoice. Your early remittance is greatly appreciated. Also here is the fee schedule for this season and your information:
- Daily Beach Access – $20
- Flag Replacement – $35
- Flag and Pole Replacement – $60
- Initiation Fee (Change in ownership) – $300
- Transfer between family members – $150
- Weekly Flag Rental – $160
We’ve experienced a lot of activity on the real estate front this off season, leading to a wave (pun intended) of change in our beach community. As we say goodbye to old friends who have moved on to new adventures, we also extend a warm welcome to new faces joining our piece of the beach. This dynamic period is bittersweet, filled with both found farewells and exciting beginnings, enriching our community with fresh perspectives and new connections.
We are delighted to welcome Trustee Maria Dunn back to the board for her second stint, bringing with her a wealth of experience and dedication to our community. Additionally, we are excited to welcome Kristina Koltunowicz as the new Chair and Caitlyn O’Dowd as the Co-Chair of the Social Committee. Together, they are planning an array of engaging events for the community. Their enthusiasm and fresh ideas are sure to invigorate our social calendar, and we look forward to the positive impact they will have. We ask everyone to consider joining a committee to help support one another and our community.
Enjoy the 2024 summer season, and we look forward to seeing you at the spring meeting!
Surf’s up!
Respectfully yours,
Jim Conover
President
